Oseng-Oseng Tempe (Tempe Stir Fry)

 

It’s one of my favorite dishes. Tempe is one of traditional food from my country, Indonesia. What is tempe? Tempe is a food made ​​from the fermentation of soy beans or some other materials that use some kind of fungus Rhizopus, such as Rhizopus oligosporus, Rh. oryzae, Rh. stolonifer (bread mold), or Rh. arrhizus. The preparation of this fermentation is generally known as “yeast tempeh”. (taken from here). The recipe i got from my mother.

Ingredients:

1 pack tempe

1 shallots

1 garlic

1 red chilli

1 green chilli

2 tbs sweet soy bean sauce

salt and sugar

2 tbs canola oil

Method:

  1. Cut tempe into small square shape. Chopped shallot, garlic and chillies.
  2. Pour 2 tbs canola oil into pan. Put shallot, garlic and chillies into it. Stir it until the colour is faded.
  3. Pour tempe and the rest of ingredients. Stir it until all the ingredients mixed well.
  4. Ready to serve.

Puding Merah Putih

 

Got the independence day virus spreading in foodie blog, I make this puding to follow foodie blogger celebrating our Independence day on August 17. Hope the spirit of red and white are represented in my photo 🙂

Ingredients:

1 pack agar-agar bubuk (you can find in Asian grocery)

200 gr white cooking chocolate

1 ltr milk

red colouring food

Method:

  1. Put milk and agar-agar into the pan, then stir over until agar-agar dissolved.
  2. Chop the chocolate and mix it with 3 tbs milk. Put in the microwave for about 1 minute until it melted.
  3. Pour it into boiled milk.
  4. Divide into 2 parts. Put red food colouring into one part.
  5. Put the red part first into pudding pan. Then after about 2-3 minutes, pour the white part into pan.
  6. Pour some strawberry thick and rich topping on top of it.
  7. Ready to serve.
